My child sees "Ask a grown-up"

It appears on a locked skill, and on screens only a grown-up should open. A grown-up taps it, passes the phone check, then goes on.

"Ask a grown-up" is a button on something your child cannot open alone. It never shows a price.

A child never sees a price. The only button that leaves the child's side is Ask a grown-up.

Three places you may see it

  1. A locked skill. Free includes the first skills. The others say, "A grown-up can unlock this one." The button opens the plans page after the phone check. See Free and Core.
  2. A grown-up screen. The page says, "This area is for grown-ups." Ask a grown-up to open it.
  3. A missing yes. "A grown-up needs to say yes first." See A parent says yes first.

What a grown-up does

  1. Take the phone.
  2. Tap the button. The card says "Grown-ups only."
  3. Use Face ID, the passcode or the number puzzle. See The phone check.

Nothing is bought by tapping

A grown-up still has to choose a plan and pay on Stripe's page. See How do I pay for a plan?
