Why does Dilly ask to use Face ID?

So only a grown-up opens the plans and the parent area. It is the only permission Dilly asks for.

When you open a grown-up screen, your phone may ask to use Face ID. The app's own words are: "Dilly asks for Face ID so only a grown-up opens the plans and the parent area."

The phone check asks for Face ID or the passcode. A puzzle is there when the phone has neither.

What it is for

It keeps a child who picked up the phone out of the plans page and the parent area. See The phone check.

What Dilly gets

Face ID is done by your phone. The phone tells the app yes or no. Dilly does not get a picture of your face.

It is the only permission

Dilly does not ask for the camera, microphone, photos, location or contacts. See Does Dilly use the camera, microphone, location or photos?

If you say no

You can use your passcode or the number puzzle. Nothing else is lost.

Change it later

Open your phone's Settings, find Dilly, and turn Face ID on or off.
