Skills and learning
Which skills there are, how lessons are written and what to expect.

- How many skills are there?Dilly has 75 skills your child can teach today. The skill plan has 100, and the other 25 are not ready yet.
- Which skills are about solving problems and inventing?Twelve skills about coming up with ideas, breaking a problem down, and choosing what to do next.
- Which skills are about following instructions?Eleven skills about doing exactly what was asked, spotting unclear instructions, and checking the work.
- Which skills are about facts, claims and evidence?Twelve skills about telling facts from guesses, asking for proof, and not trusting an answer just because it sounds sure.
- Which skills are about patterns, rules and groups?Nine skills about finding a rule in examples, testing it, and sorting things into groups.
- Which skills are about testing and fixing?Nine skills about predicting, testing one change at a time, and checking that a fix really worked.
- Which skills are about helping, fairness, privacy and games?Twenty-two skills about giving hints, playing fair, keeping private details private, and building games and made-up worlds.
- What do "taught" and "practice again" mean?"Taught" means your child finished teaching a skill. "Practice again" means a new round. The four dots show how many rounds, and they are not a grade.
- What AI literacy does Dilly teach?Dilly teaches habits for using AI tools wisely: asking clearly, checking answers, testing, keeping details private, and knowing when to ask a person.
- What if the lessons feel too easy or too hard? The lessons are written at one level for every grade. Here is what you can change, and how to tell us.
- Why are the sentences in the lessons so short?Children's text in Dilly keeps each sentence to 12 words or fewer, with one idea at a time, so it is easy to read at a glance.
- Why are there no timers or minutes?Dilly shows no countdowns, no timers and no time estimates, so a child can read and think at their own pace.
- Where do the facts come from, and are they checked? Many lessons use made-up examples. Real-world facts need a source on record, and sources are shown once at the end. Our lessons have not had an outside expert review yet.
- Will Dilly help with my child's schoolwork?Dilly is not a homework tool and does not promise grades. It teaches habits for working with AI tools.
- Can Dilly replace a tutor? No. Dilly is a short, guided set of activities. It has no live teacher and does not follow a child's schoolwork.
- What if my child wants to keep going? There is plenty to do without more battery, including practice, side missions, building and the Room.
- Does my child's progress save?Yes. Progress is saved on your account, so a lesson, a mission or a build can be left and picked up later.
- Does my child's progress move to a new phone?Yes. Log in with the same email and password on the new phone, and your children's profiles come along.
