Why are there no timers or minutes?

Dilly shows no countdowns, no timers and no time estimates, so a child can read and think at their own pace.

  3. How long does a lesson take?

Dilly has no timers and no countdowns. It does not say how many minutes anything takes.

What your child sees instead

  • A count of steps. A side mission says "10 steps," and a progress bar says "Step 3 of 10."
  • Pieces, dots and coins that show what was done, not how fast.

Why

Slow readers are never marked down. There is no clock to beat, and no score for speed. The app does not rush a child or make them feel guilty about a missed day.

How long does a lesson take?

We do not promise a time. It depends on the child. A lesson is split into short parts, so your child can stop after any one and come back. Progress is saved. See Does my child's progress save?
