What do "taught" and "practice again" mean?

"Taught" means your child finished teaching a skill. "Practice again" means a new round. The four dots show how many rounds, and they are not a grade.

Taught means your child finished teaching a skill. The companion now has that ability, and your child has the puzzle piece. They stay for good.

A blue piece is a skill Pip has. The four dots fill as your child practices it again.

The groups on the Companion tab

  • Things you taught (name). Skills your child has shown. On the first try, with no hint, they got the prepared questions right.
  • Getting the hang of it. Skills started, or finished but not shown yet. The app says, "Practice makes Pip even stronger."
  • Ready to learn. A few skills to try next.

Practice again

Each skill has up to four practice versions. A new version is a new scenario. The button says Train again. Going over a version your child already finished earns no new coins.

The four dots

Each piece has four small dots. A dot fills when your child finishes another version. Some skills have only one version, so only some dots can fill.

The dots are not a grade. They show that your child came back.

The app never says "failed" or "behind." A skill in "Getting the hang of it" just has less practice.
