Does the grade change the lessons?

Not today. Every grade uses the same app and the same lessons. The grade is used for a few small things, like a note for the youngest readers.

Today, no. Dilly has one set of lessons for every grade, kindergarten through 12th.

Thirteen chips, K to 12th grade. The birthday only suggests one. A grown-up confirms it.

What the grade is used for

  • A note for the youngest readers. In kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, a short line before a mission says, "Read this together with a grown-up." See Can my kindergartener use Dilly?
  • Showing your child's grade in the Parent/Teacher area.

What it does not do

It does not move your child to harder or easier lessons. It does not give a score or a rank.

Reading level

At first, the lessons are written at a kindergarten to grade 8 reading level. Lessons for teens are planned. We will say more here when they are ready.

Which grade should I pick?

Pick the grade your child is in. Nothing is lost if it is a little off, because you can change it any time. See How do I change my child's grade?
