Dilly checks the nicknames children give their companions. Some names are turned away.
What is allowed
A nickname can use letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes. It can be up to 20 characters. Names in any alphabet are fine.
What is turned away
- Swear words and rude words
- Hateful words, violent words and drug words
- Personal details, such as an email, a web link, a phone number or a street address
- Names that pretend to be Dilly or staff, such as Admin
- Emoji and symbols, and names with no letters
Silly jokes about toots and boogers are fine.
Sometimes a sweet name is refused
The filter is a tool, and it can be wrong. If it turned away a name you think is fine, try a small change, like a different spelling.
Where to change it
Your child can change the nickname from the Profile tab. See Choose a companion.
