Coins and the Shop

Coins are earned by teaching your companion and finishing missions, and spent in the Shop on things for the Room. They are never real money.

Coins are how the app says well done. They are not a score.

How coins are earned

  • Teaching your companion a skill earns coins. The screen before they start tells your child how many.
  • Finishing a mission earns coins.
  • Reaching a streak goal can earn coins. See How the day is counted.

If your child goes over a skill again, the app says they already earned the coins for it.

What coins are for

Coins buy things for the Room in the Shop. The sign over the door says, "Spend your coins on things for your room." Prices are in coins only. No real money is ever involved in the Shop.

The Shop has shelves for walls and floors, rugs, wall art, shelves and desks, and beds. If your child does not have enough coins, the Shop says, "Not enough coins yet." If they have none, it points them to missions and to teaching their companion.

Buying something

Your child taps an item to look at it, then taps the button that says "Buy for" and the price. After that they can put it in their Room.

What is never taken away

A missed day takes nothing away. Coins, once earned, stay. A broken streak never takes them back.

Your coins

Your child can open their coin history to see how they earned and spent coins.

Badges

Badges are separate from coins. They come from missions and teaching, and they show up in the Room and on the Profile tab. Missing a day does not take a badge away.
